Antiguan Exchange Ambassador Essan Warner equals a 206 year old club record of 14 sixes in an innings last achieved 36 years ago by Kevin Keep.

More to follow on yesterday's action at Hoveringham, but given we live in the world of 24/7 news and real time scoring, most of you will already know of a terrific innings by our Antiguan Cricketing Ambassador, Essan Warner. ??
Essan yesterday equalled a club record - so 206 years of history - where FOURTEEN of the 68 balls he faced in an incredible innings of 124 not out ended up clearing the ropes for SIX!
Essan now shares the record with Kevin Keep who struck 14 mammoth blows what seems like yesterday but was in fact 36 years ago next month (I think I am right in saying away at Bottesford Kev?).
The remainder forming a top 9 are on this stat are: 1st Team Captain Sam Foster (twice), Club Captain Rob Baker (twice), club legend Stuart Meek, Stu's brother-in-law and footballing hero Kevin Hitchcock and Aussie run machine Grant Parker.
It looks like Ian Graham played more along the ground than we thought???
We would have tried to capture some video but without being positioned in some kind of 'shark cage' it really wasn't safe!! ??
Quick reminder to all players and families old and new that we are having our CLUB PRESIDENTS DAY NEXT SATURDAY, which is a chance to come along have a drink, catch up with old friends and hear about what is happening with the club. The 1st XI currently lie second in Div C standings, and Essan, Sam, Rob and co. entertain table topping Hucknall in a 2nd vs 1sts clash - but with those 3 in the line up, please be advised not to stand with your back to the action! See you next weekend!!! ??
