KCC's Girls, Green & Gold Teams excel at their first tournament of the Summer

What a fantastic start to the Kwik cricket tournament season, last Sunday.

All the players put into practice the skills they've been learning on Friday evenings. It's amazing to see how far they've all progressed since last season and for some since their first ever taste of Cricket back in April.

Of the 6 games played, Keyworth won 5 and came a very close second in the 6th. The Girls team led by their manager Steve played brilliantly at Wollaton CC. While, at Southwell CC the two KCC mixed teams, The Green & The Golds, managed respectively by Neil & Jacqueline, demonstrated their great cricket skills with unrivalled enthusiasm, despite the hot weather. Lots of fours and sixes hit and some impressive running between the wickets. Not to mention the super-sub appearances (for the opposition!) from younger siblings to help out with fielding numbers. Best of all, all three teams' managers, commented on how much fun the kids were having & the fantastic camraderie amongst the players. That's what it's all about - whatever the result!

A huge thank you to Neil, Jacqueline & Steve for managing the Teams last Sunday, to all the parents who stepped up and helped out with scoring and umpiring (you know who you are!). We couldn't run the teams with out the volunteers, so if your child is ever playing we really hope you'll be able to help out too.

Thanks to all the supporters and of course to Wollaton CC & Southwell CC for hosting such great tournaments last Sunday (& the fabulous Cakes!).

The 18 Boys & Girls that represented Keyworth CC last weekend are just a few of the fabulous young cricketers at Keyworth. We look forward to seeing many more having fun at the rest of the Notts Kwik Cricket Tournaments, which are scheduled every Sunday right through until the begining of August.

This coming Sunday Morning (20th June) sees Keyworth CC hosting the Girls Tournament and the two mixed teams travelling to Newark R & M CC, for what I am sure will be another fun filled morning. If you'd like your Kwik Cricketer to be involved don't forget to set your availability for the Sunday fixtures. The Club's ethos is to give as many girls & boys as possible, the opportunity to represent the Club as and when they can. The teams aren't set in stone (& neither are the Team Mananger positions - so if you can help out one Sunday please let Chloe or Jacqueline know).

We look forward to many more KCC Debuts over the coming months.

Well done to all involved!
